One row per (sku x location x stock_type) balance key. No grouping, no derived composites, every provenance field available. This is the shape finance reconciles against and the shape the monthly close reproduces from the ledger alone.

Why this view is deliberately dumb

No grouping, no roll-ups, no computed composites. One row per balance key, which is the exact grain of inventory_balance. If a number here is wrong, exactly one ledger key is wrong, and the idempotency column names the event that made it wrong.

bal_after
the balance_after of the newest entry on this key. It must equal Qty. i2 had no such column, which is how its sellable reached minus 140,753 with nothing on screen objecting.
Cost match
three dots: cost basis, PO cost, invoice cost. Tolerance 5%.
Qty match
i3 addition: PO expected, GRN received, invoiced quantity. A short receipt shows up in the same row as a price variance, which GATE 3 requires.
Provenance
counted, signed, derived_from_count, unverified, never_verified, or a flag. A balance is counted only until its next movement, then it decays to derived.
Three totals
page, filter and unfiltered audit, each labelled. A total with no scope label is a defect, and the export carries the same three.

Legacy inv1_import rows (37,393 excel_sale entries in the original ledger) are excluded from the operational total and always present in the audit total. Both are printed, so the 9,517 unit difference is never a surprise at close.
